The Six Mile Cypress Slough is the first nature visit I make when arriving in Florida.
No matter what time of day you visit, anticipate seeing something new and different. The breathtaking colors and sightings are pure spiritual nourishment.
The day was unseasonably cold, so the reptiles were mainly underwater and scarce. On this particular outing the first time sightings were feral hogs and a skink.

Angelica Creek Park - Seed Pod
During a warm winter outing with Max to Angelica Creek Park, I witnessed winter's transition process to spring.
Seed pods were popping open releasing their seeds to the breeze so the new plants could take root and germinate.

Middle Creek - Sun Down
While waiting for the snow geese to return to the lake to roost for the night, the sky and landscape were offering a nice show.
It was a fast layover this year for the geese. Within 2-3 weeks they were gone.
As the ranger reports, it's not a guarantee the geese will stay long or even stop on their way from VA to Northern Canada.
